Avery Restrepo ’20 is the Chair of the Committee for Political and Legislative Awareness. They wish they had a shorter title. Originally from Fairfield, CT, they are majoring in International Relations-Political Science and Spanish.

Hey Wellesley!

Excited to be writing for The Wellesley News and begin a new tradition of Cabinet members writing in this weekly column. CPLA (the Committee for Political and Legislative Awareness) is CG’s resident political committee – we’re non-partisan and focus on putting on events and lectures about current, relevant political issues. (It’s more exciting than it sounds!) It’s been exciting to get my second semester as CPLA Chair going as the primaries have begun across the country. On that note – this is your reminder to register to vote and/or get your absentee ballot! I sent out an email last week with some helpful links. Rock the Vote and Vote.org are both good places to look for information specific to your state! CPLA also has envelopes and stamps available for those that need them to send in ballots, available in the Lulu Resource Room.

If you’re interested in putting on an event with CPLA, either with your org or independently, feel free to reach out! My email is cplachair@wellesley.edu, you can also facebook message me.

Next week, Hollis our Secretary-Treasurer will be writing! Stay tuned.

Best,

Avery Restrepo
