    News in Brief – 4/20/22

    SHE’s Sex Week

The SHEs (Sexual Health Educators) held their annual education week this past week, the week of April 11. Their events included a men’s panel where sibs anonymously asked men questions about relationships, sex and sexual health. Other events included a sexuality, gender and spirituality panel and a Sex Carnival that took place on Saturday, April 17.

    Rise in COVID-19 Cases

According to Dean Sheilah Shaw Horton, Wellesley has consistently seen a daily rise of five to 10 new cases. In the week of April 10-16, the Wellesley COVID Dashboard has reported a total of 31 student and faculty cases. The rate of positive cases in Boston and Massachusetts as a whole continues to rise. Despite the rapid rise of cases on campus, guests are still permitted on the Local Motion bus. Students are still required to wear masks in common rooms when there are more than 10 people present, which Dean Horton clarified in her weekly update on April 15.

    MarMon

The second Boston Marathon of the 2021-2022 academic year was on April 18. The annual marathon race that is held on Patriot’s Day has its halfway point at the College. Following tradition, students prepared signs and cheered on participants — colloquially known as the Scream Tunnel — as they ran through Central Street behind Munger Hall.
