College Government Vice President: Felicity Pollard ’21
My name is Felicity Pollard (she/her/her’s) and I’m a member of the Class of 2021. I am extremely excited to announce my candidacy for the position of College Government Vice President (CGVP).
College Government has been an integral part of my Wellesley experience these past two years, during which time I served as both a Senator for Tower (’17-’18) and as the Executive Senator for Claflin (’18-’19). Furthermore, I have served as the Appointments co-Coordinator of the Student Organizations and Appointments Committee (‘18-’19). In this position, I facilitate the application and interview processes for student appointments to the College’s Administrative committees such as the Board of Trustees and Board of Admissions. The time I’ve invested into College Government has endowed me with an immense appreciation for such a diverse community. That said, I have a vision for a more thoughtful, authentic, productive, and welcoming College Government.
The role of CGVP in the coming academic year will be significantly different than that of its predecessors, with the incoming CGVP chairing a Cabinet committee focused solely on student appointments and student voice — changes that bring about my first goal as your College Government Vice President, to promote institutional memory. I plan to bring this goal to fruition through meticulous record keeping within the Appointed Representatives Committee (ARC) and encouraging thoughtful documentation of all decisions and thought processes that led to these decisions so that future CGVPs will have a clear cut understanding of past work of ARC.
During my tenure as a SOAC Appointments Coordinator, it has become abundantly clear to me that student voice is a concept often taken for granted at Wellesley, but no truly effective steps are taken to amplify student voice. Our administration passively accepts student voice as a nice gesture yet takes no steps to nurture it, and goes as far as to neglect making student seats on committees publicly available. If elected, I will ensure that all student appointment opportunities are made available to the entire student body on a semester or yearly basis so that students are able to plan accordingly. Furthermore, to gather increased input from the student body, student representatives will be given the support and resources to facilitate town halls and fireside chats to further illustrate students’ points of view.
The least glamorous of these goals is the most important: increased communication between College Government, the CGVP, and Administration. Forming stronger relationships with Administration will facilitate more effective and productive conversations, and allow for increased transparency within College Government and the campus at large.
In short, I plan to promote institutional memory, amplify student voice, and increase CG-Admin communication. I will take my experience in College Government and act, not as cheerleader for broken mechanisms of student voice, but rather as a warrior who will fight everyday to ensure that you see yourself represented by Administration and that your voice and your beliefs are heard.

Organizations Chair Candidate: Sarah Sansón Hernández ’21
Hello Friends!
I’m Sarah Sansón Hernández ’21 (she/her) and I am running for the Organizations Chair position. Why do I want to become the orgs chair? I believe that being in an org can be a great way to build community over a common interest and/or identity. I want to run for this position because I want to make sure that orgs can focus on creating community and worry less about forms and paperwork.
I want to make sure that our e-boards are equipped with the best resources possible. I want to work on re-developing president’s, pub chair, and event manager training and create an e- board retreat/training guide which org presidents can use in their retreats to work on community building and conflict resolution. I want to create events for e-boards throughout the year where we can work on cementing the skills learned in the initial trainings. I also want to work on CORA itself to see how we can best work as a committee. I hope to collaborate with SOFC, OSI, SPEC, and SBOG to help give orgs more resources and training in event planning, applying for funding, and spamming.
As a person who has been a leader in CG, class council, HoCo, and orgs, I know how important it is for orgs to run as smoothly as possible. I hope that we can work with orgs to help to make being a part of their communities a memorable and happy part of their members’ time here at Wellesley.
