Hello Wellesley,
I hope you had a great Fall Break and enjoyed this past Wellesley Weekend. It was great to see so many parents and alumnae on campus for the weekend’s activities. Whether it be at the Alumnae Achievement Awards or at the Albright Institute’s 10th Anniversary presentation, these moments where we come together are great reminders of what it means to be in community.
In Senate, I am working on developing some nuts and bolts to strengthen College Government (CG) and help lend itself to further community work. For this reason, we are beginning to offer a consistent set of drop-in hours to the community. Anybody is welcome to swing by and speak with a Senator or other member of CG with any questions, concerns or comments. We hope that these drop-in hours will help keep us accountable and visible to the community that we aim to serve. On that note, you can find College Government President’s Council at El Table on Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursdays from 1 to 2 p.m., and Fridays from 10 to 11 am. Beginning Oct. 30, Senate will host its drop-in hours from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Lulu Resource Room, every day of the week except for Fridays.
In addition, Senate continues to convene every Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Academic Council room. We have a theme each week, with a main presentation that follows the given theme. On Oct 21, Joy St. John, Dean of Admission and Financial Aid reported on international financial aid policies and updates from the Admission and Financial Aid Committee. Next week, in anticipation of the Tanner Conference on Oct. 29, we will hear from Elizabeth Mandeville ’04, Director of Exploration & Experiential Learning.
As always, thank you for the opportunity to serve our community, and please reach out with any questions or comments.
All the best,
Diana
