Housing selection
During the House President’s Corner, Caroline Alt ’21 answered questions about housing selection for the 2021-22 school year. An email was sent to all students enrolling next year earlier in the day with dates and deadlines related to the process. An intent form for fall housing is currently open on StarRez and is due May 21. StarRez will open on May 10 for students to look for roommates and blockmates. Housing selection will run through the weeks of June 1 and 7.
SBOG roller rink event
As presented last week, SBOG is planning to host a second roller rink event with funding from SOFC. Student workers, particularly SBOG and SOFC members, will be paid to work at this event. Raine Higa ’23 asked whether there would be multiple roller rink locations in one day, similar to Hot Sib Spring, or if there would be one location held over multiple days, to which DOOCA Ashley Amoabeng ’21 responded that it is still under consideration. Senate once again did not meet quorum, so vote results will be announced in the Secretary-Treasurer’s weekly email.
CORA amendments
Orgs Chair Isabel Ortiz ’22 presented several amendments to the Committee on Organization Recognition and Affairs. Among other proposals, the new constitution adds three appendices and a table of contents. Several sections are moved around or rewritten, and certain CORA practices have been formalized in the constitution, such as the orgs recognition process. The current constitution can be viewed at this link, and the new constitution at this link.
Fundraising 4 Love update
Last semester, College Government hosted a “Fundraiser for Love” to raise money for dining hall and custodial staff. Gift cards will soon be distributed, and CG is looking for students to contribute to a video thanking the staff. Clips should be no longer than 20 seconds, and more information can be found at this Google Form. If students want to thank a particular staff member, they may check the college directory for an updated list of current staff members.
