SOFC voting
Senators voted on the Student Organization Funding Committee (SOFC)’s constitutional amendments. Once again, Senate did not meet quorum, and as of the meeting, had not hit quorum on last week’s CORA amendments either. Results will be announced shortly via email.
SPEC amendments
The Senate Policy and Ethics Committee (SPEC) proposed various constitutional amendments. The main amendment is to move all responsibilities related to spam policy over to the Communication Committee since spam is a matter of communication. Fines for spam policy violations will be removed since SPEC has not enforced fines in several years. In addition, some outdated language will be updated, such as changing all mentions of SOAC to CORA. Students with any questions about these amendments should contact Quinn Etoll at [email protected].
SPEC Chair election announcement
At the end of each year, Senate and College Government elect a new SPEC chair who has at least one year of Senate experience. CG President Tatiana Ivy Moise ’21 called for Senate members to consider running for the position. Any senators interested in running should email Moise and Etoll with a brief statement of intent.
Fluffy Friends 2.0
CG is running another Fluffy Friends event for on-campus students who did not receive a stuffed animal during the fall event. Due to stocking issues, Furry the Bear has been replaced by a different brown teddy bear, and Jill and Joey, a kangaroo set, are an option in lieu of Flopsy the Bunny. Distribution will be within dormitory neighborhoods instead of every residential hall because there are fewer Fluffy Friends to distribute, but senators are invited to assist with distribution.
