As the entire Wellesley student body returns to campus this fall, members of the Class of 2024 that had been fully remote for the past year are seeing Wellesley in person for the first time. 

“I forgot that Wellesley existed in the physical realm,” said Rem Otée ’24. “I committed to Wellesley in 2019 without visiting it, and then I took remote classes for a year from my childhood bedroom. I just thought my senior year of high school never ended!” 

Some students reported that the actual campus poorly resembled the virtual reality tour they took during the spring virtual open-campus. Other sophomores were stunned by the various buildings around campus. 

“I’d see tweets from students about places like Lulu or Stone Davis or Tower Court,” Hoome Boi ’24 noted. “I was starting to think those places were figments of my imagination, just like the term system. That didn’t actually happen, right?” 

On a more positive note, new friendships are now forming as some sophomores finally meet their sibs in real life. 

“This is so great!” remarked Alli Lone ’24, who was later spotted weeping for joy at the sight of Lake Waban. “Did you know people are willing to talk to you even if you aren’t forced into a breakout room with them?”

Confusion aside, all the classes are thrilled to be on campus together again. We do advise that you don’t ask any sophomores for directions, though.
