Hello Wellesley,
Fall Break is right around the corner! I hope the last few weeks of midterms have been well and that you were able to find some time to sleep, eat and have fun.
In College Government, we kicked off the week with an eventful Senate. We welcomed prospective students from Discover Wellesley Weekend and held the first vote of the year for constitutional proposals from the Schneider Board of Governors (SBOG) and the new Appointed Representatives Committee (ARC). In addition, I invited Piper Orton, Vice President for Finance and Administration and Treasurer, and Dave Chakraborty, Assistant Vice President of Facilities Management & Planning to Senate in order to create a space for students to learn and ask questions regarding the College’s finances — especially as they relate to the student experience. We also heard from the new Committee on Organization Recognition and Affairs (CORA) and its constitutional proposals. If you follow the College’s Instagram account, then you may have caught aspects of this Senate session on its story page. This was courtesy of Roula Hammer ’23, a first-year Senator from Shafer Hall.
When we return from Fall Break, Schneider Board of Governors will resume with Fall Frenzy on Thursday, October 17 from 12:45 pm to 2:10 pm on Alumnae Lawn. In addition, on the following Senate on October 21, we will hear from Joy St. John, Dean of Admission and Financial Aid, and Heather Woods from Library and Technology Services.
Please note that all Senate meetings are open for anybody to attend, and they are from 6 to 7 pm in the Academic Council room in Green Hall. If there are any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] or chat with me via appointment here.
I hope you have a relaxing Fall Break and take care!
Sincerely,
Diana
